8" x 8" original pastel painting a citrus trio.Soft Pastel has been used for centuries as a fine art medium, maybe the most well-known use of pastels would be Degas’ ballerinas.
Pastel is just pure pigment and a binder on a stick, which gives them freshness and more spontaneous results. They help keep my work light and simple, which is why pastels are one of my preferred mediums to work with.
